At 2 Black Moms, we talk on our podcast and blog about the college admissions process. While this process typically starts when a student begins their junior year of high school, more and more this process is beginning much earlier than that!
Know this! Millions of high school students apply to college each year. If you have a high school student planning for college, you may already know that the process for getting admitted to college can be complicated. The stakes can be high, and that’s why it is important to seek out help.
At a national student-to-school counselor ratio of 424:1 as of 2019-2020, over-stretched public-school counselors may be unable to provide the personalized and tailored guidance that your student and family needs to effectively navigate the college admissions process. Public school counseling staff, on average, spend only 21% of their time on post-secondary planning.
The college admissions process can be expensive, and the wrong college fit can mean transferring to a different college, creating delays in graduating, changing majors, or possibly dropping out. More parents are diving into the process themselves, or investing in the services of an expensive private college admissions consultant to assist their child (and themselves) in the process of college admissions.
Affordable service tailored to your immediate needs! That’s where 2 Black Moms & A Mic comes in. We provide discrete, personal and cost-efficient services for students and parents navigating the maze of college admissions in order to help your student find the right “college fit” and put in their best effort to get admitted. We consult in 30-minute increments – starting at $30 for 30 minutes. If you are a parent who is fully engaged in your student’s college admissions process but want some additional insights from thoughtful moms who have been through the process, schedule a session with us!
