What’s your high schooler doing this summer? Have they thought about a summer internship?
In our blog earlier this week, we explain that even though it is a little late, your student may still be able to secure an internship for this summer. For those students who want an internship, but didn’t start earlier in the year, they still may be able to nail an internship this summer. Try reaching out to local small businesses, community service organizations or other entities where your family may have contacts, and inquire about summer work or volunteering with an organization.
Why should your student arrange an internship? Well, there are lots of benefits to exposing your student to a professional workplace during the summer.

Test out potential career paths before exploring next steps in your student’s academic or professional path
Discover what industries or roles genuinely interest (or don't interest) them
